After years of development, testing and improving, we have officially launched our range of LithiumSafe™ Battery Boxes. The Battery Box is the first Lithium battery fire containment box solution which is engineered to fight all thermal runaway problems.
After years of development, testing and improving, we have officially launched our range of LithiumSafe™ Battery Boxes. The Battery Box is the first Lithium battery fire containment box solution which is engineered to fight all thermal runaway problems.
It is completely insulated with highly advanced insulation materials which can withstand a continues temperature of 1200 °C, peak temperatures of 1400 °C in minimal material thickness. The thermal conductivity is extremely low at high temps, ensuring an effective thermal break down of temperature.
Furthermore, is has a special self-developed Filter system in the lid. The essential function of the LithiumSafe™ Filter is to quickly relieve high volume of flammable gas which is produced in the event of a thermal runaway. The material is porous but blocks flames at the same time. Another unique feature of the LithiumSafe™ Filter is that is filters the toxic gases. Tests have shown that our Filter retains a large part of the harmful gases in its porous structure. The filter material can be accessed by unscrewing the ventilation caps from the inside of the lid. Every 12 months the filter should be renewed.
It's possible to safely charge lithium ion batteries inside the battery box. During day and night, the batteries are safe inside the box, giving the user peace of mind. The LithiumSafe™ Cable Entry Plug provides an effective fire seal around the charging cable.
For batteries that get hot during charging, the Battery Box can be equipped with an active cooling ventilator unit linked to a thermostat. When the indoor temperature exceeds the maximum allowed temperature, the fan will be activated. It automatically shuts down when the inside temperature is cool.
The LithiumSafe™ Battery Box is available in various standard sizes. Custom sizes can be produced on request.
